Feministing.com is a website that provides women with a place to discuss and respond to important articles, videos and events regarding issues women face. The site serves as an outlet for feminists and their allies to be open and honest about what affects them today. The site is run by a number of editors and there are certain “bloggers” that post articles/ideas that are responded to and commented on. The site gets women’s issues out in public and clearly states that it does not tolerate any anti-feminist comments. There is a strong emphasis on Community throughout the description of the website. Community is what unites the feminists and allies posting and commenting on issues. The site also offers helpful tips on how to create a profile to stay connected to other bloggers and remain active in discussing women’s rights and women’s issues. Feministing.com pertains to Sex, Power, and Politics because the syllabus states we will be focusing on feminism as well as activist organizations.
