I found this article while looking through news articles concerning President Obama and any actions/changes he has recently made in public policy. While reading the article, I drew parallels to the readings we had discussed in class on Tuesday, as well as the reading in the Freedman book for Thursday; at the same time, it upset me to think further about the fact that it is necessary for our President to make women’s equality and women’s domestic treatment a current political issue demanding change and action. In addition, while the slow progress toward complete equality for women upsets me, I thought that this article was uplifting in the sense that it showed our current government’s dedication to and support for women’s rights.
